Kaper II provides a broad range of analytical and physical technical services to OEM's and suppliers in the RV, marine, trailer and trucking industries. By combining both physical and analytical test methods within one company, Kaper II offers innovative approaches to complex problems.

Our customers see us as an extension of their own engineering teams, filling in their internal gaps and providing the expertise required to build better, stronger, safer and more reliable products. Which means products come to market quickly and efficiently, greatly reducing development time and costs.

Federal motor vehicle safety standard testing

Product and Lighting compliancy is taken very seriously at Kaper II. Lighting products are engineered and manufactured to meet the requirements of the FMVSS 108 Standard. To ensure initial and ongoing compliance, each of our lights are sent to an independent test lab to verify that the product meets the FMVSS 108 Standard.

With the recent purchase and installation of the goniophotometer, products continue to undergo random and scheduled in-house testing to ensure consistency, quality and standards compliance.

  • Goniophotometer- for more info see below:

To ensure and to continue to offer the highest quality and compliant automotive lighting possible; Kaper II, Inc. purchased a Type A Goniophotometer.

For those of you who are new to testing equipment a Goniophotometer is defined as:

A device used for measurement of the light emitted from an object at different angles. The use of Goniophotometer has been increasing in recent years with the introduction of LED-light sources, which are mostly directed light sources, where the spatial distribution of light is not homogeneous. Due to strict regulations, the spatial distribution of light is of high importance to automotive lighting and its design.

This system produces reports showing compliancy with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 (FMVSS). After independent qualification, Kaper II light products will continue to undergo random and scheduled in-house testing to assure ongoing consistency, quality and standards compliance.
